GIKONDO

Widow at her veg. stall

The area is Gikondo, a poor suburb of Kigali and an area I have been aware of since my first visit in 2001.   The idea is to enable widows individuals to  run a small business. In addition we have trained 18 girls in tailoring.

Working with the Rwandan Diabetic Association, 10 girls have been trained and qualified in  hairdressing.  This has given  these  young people the opportunity to enjoy a reasonable life.
