Pat and Hazel f

The following may be of interest to you. Pat qualified to teach in 1963 and Hazel in 1979. We are members of the International Dance Teachers Association (IDTA) it has over 6000 members and Pat was a member of the North East Area committee from 1974 to 1992, and chairman 1985 to 1987. The IDTA conducts more examinations in dance then any other examination organisation in the world. We are also members of The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) with over 9000 members. Pat was made a life member of both the IDTA & ISTD in July 1992.

Both are members of the Sports Council and the Council for Dance Education and Training (UK) and both now have QCA accreditation. Besides the above we are members of the Guild of professional Teachers of Dancing to cover our civil liability insurance. On November 7th 1987 Hazel was the first in the North of England to become qualified in the freestyle branch of the ISTD the in March 1997 the first in Yorkshire to become qualified in the Country and Western Branch of the IDTA. Due to teaching children and vulnerable adults we have been checked through the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB)

 Both the IDTA and ISTD are members of The British Dance Council. This was formed in 1929 as the Official Board of Ballroom Dancing (OBBD). The name was changed in 1985 to the British Council of Ballroom Dancing and again in 1996 to British Dance Council 

  The Council is accepted as the governing body for all matters pertaining to all forms of ballroom,Latin American and disco freestyle dancing throughout England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Channel counties.
